Coimbra & Porto

The enchanting city of Coimbra inspired artists and visitors for centuries while Porto’s sparkling natural beauty balances tradition and modernity.  

In its urban life, Coimbra peacefully coexists in both the past and the present—enhanced by the blend of a historic hilltop setting and its scenic riverfront. It became Portugal’s first capital in 1117.

As the ‘capital of the north’, Porto clings to granite hills while situated along the Douro River. With a lengthy maritime history, it features architectural innovation and exports its world famous port wines.
